My Thoughts on Writing

Writing needs patience. I started with something easy, finished one or two paragraphs quickly. But rushing it lead to exhaustion and frustration instead of progress. Writing fast does not guarantee fast progress. There were times when I lost confidence and got writers block. You have to go at your own pace. Not giving up is more important than your speed of progress.

It is easier said than done, especially when you are writing in your second language. So do not force yourself to write when you loose your will to do so. Take your time. Pushing yourself harder might unnecessarily drain your energy and hinder your ability to write again. Clear your head by rerouting your attention somewhere else. Stepping away from your problem can be the key to solving it.

Do not be disappointed because someone else is better than you. No matter how little you write it is fine. Focus on yourself, do not let negative feelings get to you.

Practice is the key to writing. And I am sure you already heard it a thousand times. But it's true. Skills cannot be acquired overnight, that stands true for writing as well.
